Top 25 tunes on my iPod come from 2 bands and 2 artists – The Eagles, The Billy Walton Band, David Cook and Don Henley.
And just to show what a complete music tart I am – these are the top artists that I am playing lately:
Alexandra Burke – can’t resist catchy pop songs.
BeyoncĂ© – who can resist Crazy in Love, not me.
Cheryl Cole – Fight For Your Love is one of the best pop songs I have heard in a decade.
David Cook – ’nuff said already
Don Henley – vocal god
Girls Aloud – best girl band ever, superb pop songs
Jace Everett – Bad Things – the theme from True Blood, love it.
JLS – Ethan loves them, I do too.
Katherine Jenkins – she did some pop crossover songs on her latest album, I like them a lot.
Kings of Leon – great band, quite new to me.
La Roux – Bulletproof is a great pop song.
Lady Gaga – the biggest pop music sensation in 20 years – she has the potential to be bigger than Madonna and Elton John combined (which is how I see her – Madonna like performances with Elton’s musical talent).
Leona Lewis – Quite simply the best new female vocal talent in years.
Michael BublĂ© – bringing sexy back to swing and crooning !! Yeah, another man crush ![]()
Nickelback – Best pop rock band to emerge probably since the 80s.
Paloma Faith – Another amazing talent – what songs, what a voice.
Susan Boyle – Just love Wild Horses otherwise not my cup of tea.
The Billy Walton Band – Best band I know that are not worldwide superstars that should be.
The Eagles – Fantastic band who are one of my musical points of consistency and I like it that way.
U2 – Innovation on a stick – so much classic music over the last 30-ish years, so much variety.
Westlife – well, my excuse is they covered a Daughtry song.
And quite how Rush don’t appear on there I have no idea *hangs head in shame*
Or Roxette, or Marie Fredriksson, or Daughtry, etc. etc. But that’s me all over when it comes to music. So much music, not enough time to play enough of it …. well, guess what, it 2 weeks from now there will be !!
Anyway, I am not a tart – I am just eclectic !!
Thanks for the list. I will be having a listen to some of those artists I’ve not heard of.
*ahem* Why is We are the Fallen not there??
Agree with Nickelback, Jace Everett, Lady Gaga and Nickelback wholeheartedly
I too am a tar*cough* eclectic!
@Grete – We Are The Fallen are missing because the above “top” lists are based on plays since end of March 2010.
